(untitled) ("Plastic Man")
Plastic man, wake me up in smouldering heat Flames are burning, chasing me through the sky. Ever looked to the sea And found a place? Hiding was so easy With a mask over the face. Cutting man, rip apart my structured life Place a scar, across my hideous face. Don’t think it’s easy Cause it’s real hard, To bring back the memories I tried to discard. Melt away my thoughts This is where it all ends. A land that is promised Will be re-promised, again and again. Open your eyes, see the world and its flashing lights Break the ice, across the darkness of night. You’re mentally awake But you turn away, See how I’ve lived And see the price I’ve paid. For the anger, that I woke up inside Now the truth, is choking my very existence. The beliefs of a thousand souls Ready to live forever Getting off on a religious high But they never really wanted to die. The crises of a thousand hearts Searching for a place to hide Ready to live forever But they never really wanted to die. This is the penalty we live The price we have to pay, For speaking words of abandonment Observing what is today. |
