From about 2007 through to 2010, I composed a suite for flute and string orchestra. Movement 1 is a short Andante that acts as a simple introduction before moving onto the Sprightly second movement which was composed in Sonata Form with two key changes before heading back to the recapitulation, and the third movement is a Baroque-like idea with a rolling wave-like feel to it.

I dreamed about her last night.
Could I have stopped myself if I had tried? She wore make-up – more than I had seen her in before, What was she trying to tell me? There seemed a tinge of bitterness to her words, like the world had left her, and I was just a listener along for the ride. But others were with us in the car she drove, eyes scrutinising the road. |
